It's been busy, busy here the last few months, working on Charm City Knits and--ta da!--these two new pieces that made their debut in Knittin' Little's Spring collection yesterday!
First, Evangeline: a sweet girl's cardi with a garter stitch yoke, simple cable-and-eyelet patterning on the body, open front and short sleeves.
This sweater is worked top down with raglan shaping, faux side seams and icord trim. No seaming! It's knit in sport weight yarn, Dragonfly Fibers Damsel, which makes a light yet warm layer for spring, and the pattern includes sizes 2-12.
I grabbed the little sheep buttons on Etsy a few years ago and they were perfect to finish off this girlie-girl sweater.
Evangeline, incidentally, was the girl's name we had picked out during both pregnancies and never got to use!
Spring is the season when I seem to be most in need of fingerless mitts, so we have a pair of those too!
The Corteza ("bark") mitts feature an offset tree-branch cable and simple slipped stitch pattern. They're knit in Stitch Sprouts Yellowstone, a sport weight yarn with silk that gives it a hint of sheen.
