When publishing through a third party, like a magazine or yarn company, the pattern in question is often exclusive to that party for a period of time--meaning customers can only purchase it through them.
Even when the terms are quite designer-friendly, it can still be difficult to give up control of your pattern for such a long time. I'm always delighted when pattern rights revert back to me.
This month I'm re-publishing 2 older patterns that were previously exclusive to third party publishers.
First, Vaughan Vest, originally published in Knit Picks' Fall 2015 Twist and Tweed Collection, is now available for purchase directly on Ravelry. I originally envisioned this vest with contrast colors but Knit Picks opted for a single-color interpretation. In re-releasing the pattern, I've added instructions for adding contrast trim, if you're so inclined! This vest makes a great summer-to-fall transition piece, and since there are no sleeves, you'll finish it much faster than a traditional fall sweater!
Second, the Lady Lindy headband, originally published in Knitscene Accessories 2014. Two beautiful new samples were knit up by awesome sample knitter Nicole, and I've added a 2nd style option--a moss stitch center panel to shake things up just a bit! This project is a great use for leftover sock yarn, as it uses less than 100yd, and the perfect handknit accessory when the weather's too warm for sweaters and shawls.
Want to grab both? For a very limited time, you can get the Vaughan Vest and Lady Lindy Headband patterns for just $9! Add both to your Ravelry cart and enter code TWOFER.
