And now it's time to check out what we created!
First, Kim dyed this absolutely gorgeous custom colorway:
This delicate, perfect neutral gray is flecked with bright bits of color: blue, purple, acid green! The subtle variation gives it depth, but doesn't overwhelm stitch patterns--ideal for one skein accessories . . .
Like Sarah's beautiful Street Art Cowl! This piece is so clever--worn close around the neck like a cowl, but with a traditional triangle shawl shape in the front for extra coverage. I love the unique zigzag eyelets and round cables along the edge, Sarah's design is just a stunner all around.
Can you believe Sarah and I didn't discuss or share our designs while working? Yet, we both created these cowl/shawl hybrids! Introducing Paisaje, a cowlette for all seasons.
Paisaje was inspired by the strong lines of the winning photo--swirling around the whisk (?), criss-crossing the bricks, and spiraling around . . . whatever that other thing is in the picture.
Worked from the top down, the yoke is knit primarily in stockinette to let the subtle color variations in the yarn shine through. Short rows are used to create a subtle wave that's highlighted by a lateral braid (my favorite!) before the cowlette transitions into an easy-to-memorize openwork lace.
Wear Paisaje around the shoulders like a shawlette, or draped around the neck like a cowl--cowlette!
Both of these designs will be on display this weekend at RHINEBECK! Stop by the Indigodragonfly/Jennie the Potter booth to check them out--you can even buy a kit that features this custom colorway!
Not going to make it to the festival? No worries--you can grab both patterns on Ravelry today (Street Art Cowl and Paisaje), or, if you have just a wee bit of patience, Kim will be selling kits on the Indigodragonfly website after the festival is over!
