Here in Central Maryland we're having our first really big heat wave of the summer this week--highs in the mid-90s and heat indices over 100. The air feels like a warm damp towel, so it's officially summer!
This is about the time those warm, wooly knits can start to seem oppressive--so here's a quick roundup of some summery projects you can pick up. Knit at looser gauges in cool cottons and linens, they're the perfect cure for the summertime blues.
Beach House was also included in that issue of Holla Knits, and I use it all summer long as a quick beach or pool coverup, or layered over a camisole.
And have you seen this summer's issue of Holla Knits? I can't get over Kirsten Singer's Corrine pullover!
The Lotus Blossom tank is one of the first garments I ever knit, and I still wear it every summer. With a solid top and lacey body, it gives you coverage where you need it, and cool breezes too!
I wish my needles weren't so overloaded, because I'd love to cast on Kerri Blumer's Cordia Tank IMMEDIATELY!
Ditto for Andi Satterlund's Zinone.
And here's a sneak peek at a new summer-y design making its way to knitters in the August 2016 issue of I Like Knitting.
More on my latest pattern, Boardwalk Tee, next time!
